Edmonton Mentor Network, Inc. utilizes a blend of primary therapeutic models to ensure that the youth served through this program are respected involved and has the greatest potentials for learning and applying new skills. This program combines the Client-Centered approach with Trauma Informed Practice.

The Client-Centered Approach philosophy is founded upon an interactive process with the client, their care providers, the Edmonton Mentor Network, Inc. team, the extended team of supports and the client’s family. All persons belong to a collaborative process of integrated services in which the focus is on the individual as opposed to the issues and on the individual’s strengths and abilities as opposed to barriers.
We believe the quality of life for youth will be enhanced through Healing (service/goal) planning and collaboration with significant persons, resources, and community connections as this is the key to success and growth through the challenges in their lives. The delivery of support services using a balance of structure, consistency, and stability will be the mechanism to providing the benchmark of excellent services. - Develop a stable group living program that is therapeutically and culturally oriented.
- Strengthen the cultural identity of Aboriginal/First Nations/Indigenous youth while addressing specific behavioral, emotional, and physical needs.
- Establish a culturally relevant and specific program to strengthen and add to the community’s resources to respond to children in need.
- To assist in the personal growth and development of youth in care.
- To offer a culturally specific alternative to youth in care.
- To help the youth remain close and connected to their community, and thus maintain their roots of the personal being.
